    • Meet your guide in front of the Gediminas Monument in Cathedral Square, located in the Old Town. Your tour will focus on the history of Vilnius, an area that developed during the Soviet period. Pass the Green Bridge, the Planetarium, Lukiskiu Square, and the former KGB headquarters. As you go, hear tales about KGB spies, and learn about the role that basketball played in Lithuania's independence and how Lithuania and Vilnius were incorporated into the USSR.

    You'll also stop to see the most iconic Soviet-era buildings, such as the former Palace of Concerts and Sport, Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the House of Scientists.

    We had a really great time learning about the Soviet past of Vilnius and its impact/role in Lithuanian society. Our guide, Tadas, did an amazing job walking us through the key sites if the city, while also providing us with interesting stories and anecdotes from his past in the Soviet Union! Highly recomended

    Really interesting tour, packed full of history and interesting sites. Really enthusiastic guide, despite there being only two of us. Nice to have a coffee stop mid-tour (it was very cold) and great pub recommendations for craft beer afterwards!

    This was a tour given by a young lady who is deeply interested in the subject, but not that interested in telling us about it. Consequently lip-service was given to 'answering questions', but the tour was shaped such that there was seldom opportunity. The guide seemed to want to be somewhere else. She asked - in the latter stages of the tour - if we would like to finish early 'in view of the weather.' (the weather was fine). We refused her, which turned out to be wise, as the final part of the tour was crucial. If you are, like me, interested in the history of communism then you may want to 'pass' on this tour, for fear that you will find it a little discouraging.

    We are a couple interested in Soviet history and for us this was a given on our Vilnius itinerary. Our guide Sharonas was amazing, he had studied history and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The tour was thorough and Sharonaas guided to different places and monuments we wouldn't have found on our own. It was also interesting to hear how much suffering Communism inflicted upon the Lithuanians - especially coming from a country where we don't discuss Communism's grim side enough. Highly recommended if you're going to Vilnius!

    Our guide, Ieva, was an expert in her field, very knowledgeable, and with a great command of English. She added personal experiences of her family as well as pictures of the troubled times prior to 1991.     Our guide covered alot of ground. We saw many monuments and buildings. The guide had grown up in the Soviet area so recounted some of his experiences. It was also a good way to see some parts of the city you might otherwise miss. I highly recommend the tour.
