Maria is an amazing storyteller. Her enthusiasm and animation brings the stories she shares to life. My partner and I had the best time and would not have learned so much about the history and buildings we were passing by without this experience. We booked the tour about 1.5 hours before the start time. The Viator representative, Stephen, was helpful and called Maria directly to allow us to book the tour. First, it is important to understand that visiting Verona is something that I had one wanted to do for a very long time. Therefore, I wanted to be immersed into Verona's history on the first day upon arrival. I chose this particular tour based on the opportunity to learn a little more about Verona's dark historical past. I was not disappointed! I was bless with a one on one tour. Pia Maria is an amazing guide. Her ability to identify the smallest and most seemingly unimportant landmarks around the city is amazing. Her entertaining insights and warm nature, made the morning go so quickly and I learned so much. It was a brilliant way to get insights into the city and then have some background to be able to return on my own and explore at my own pace. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who could like to gain an appreciation and insight to the complex and diverse history of Verona, and also, gain some understanding of how to notice the different influences around the city that can be attributed to the different ruling eras. Romans, Germans, Venetians - well you will have to do this tour to learn all about it and fill in the gaps. Enjoy and be prepared to be questioned along the way - it is worthwhile.

It was amazing! Our tour guide Maria was awesome!! Walking around the city, it truly felt like we were back in time. From 6 million years ago to the 14th,15th,16th, and 17th century. I have been to Verona before but this tour made it come alive. I would highly recommend this tour!
