Unusual Venice Walking Tour

Our tour guide never gave her name. Rushed us so much that she said we had no time for questions or pictures. She started talking before everyone got to the location she was explaining. We actually lost her and could not finish the tour (we wanted a picture together at a church).

The picture is of our tour guide, who was excellent! Only small problem was at start in St. Marks square, it was so loud, that the tour guide should have had a mic and small speaker as I couldn’t hear him at all! The “Unusual Venice tour” was great and I loved the tour guides eccentric approach! It brought Venetian history to life! Thank you 💙

There was absolutely nothing unusual about this tour. We got the very basics of a normal tour of St Mark’s Square for over an hour and then maybe 45 min of some slightly more interesting factoids but mostly just a lot of dull facts and dates. Also we really only got half a tour because everything was repeated in two languages so we did a lot of standing around and waiting while the tour guide repeated everything she said in the other language. The tour guide herself was dull, had a strong accent that was difficult to understand (in English), and made nothing she said memorable. The only things I remember from the tour was something about a cistern that filtered the rainwater and that there used to be more cats on the island than there are today but I don’t know why. Finally, we chose to include the optional gondola ride when we purchased our tickets and when we got there we found out that it was separated from the tour by 2.5 hours! So we had to amuse ourselves for that 2.5 hours and return for the gondola ride. I wish that had been made clear upon booking that the ride was not directly after the tour. Thoroughly disappointing - I cannot recommend.

Great to hear a detailed explanation of the different Venice Overall good exp. Little confusion as to when the gondola tour was as we bought a package deal but 2 pm we were able to do it

We had a wonderful tour guide for our walking tour in Venice. We learned so much about Venice and met some wonderful people. Highly suggest this tour.

Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Valentina was very knowledgeable and shared some lesser known info on Venice. I was a bit nervous about the meeting point as many reviews (for other tours) had confusing meeting points. This was not the case. The meeting point was easy to get to which was a great start. Very well organised.

Our guide Fransceso gave us a great account of some venetian history and modern culture. He took us to some beautiful spots and hidden gems that otherwise would have been missed. Would highly recommend. Beware though that the description of where to meet the guide for this trip was not clear on the details. You need to walk under the arches beneath the Correr museum to find the news stand and Fendi shop where you meet the guide!

We really enjoyed this experience. The guide was great & knowledgeable. He took us into areas we would have never ventured into so we’re grateful for this experience

I have no doubt that our guide was competent and did the best with what they had. Unfortunately, this tour just wasnt up to the standard that a typical tourist would expect. There was no audio device so we could not hear the guide very well. We felt that too many of the stops were uninteresting, such as stopping to look at drainage holes. We had picked up some Italian tourists shortly before starting so the guide had to take extra time to explain things in both languages, leaving us English speakers standing around with nothing to do. My wife and I left after the 6th or 7th stop as we only had one day in Venice and felt that this was not an effective use of our limited time.
