It was cool to see but it was definitely organized for people who have no experience with glass. The activity was either putting beads on a string or making a mosaic and the demo was just watching the glass master making whatever he was already working on. It was fun, but we wish it was a little more involved or at least a more detailed demo.

This was a fun tour - we traveled over to Murano and saw examples of the glassblowing process. May 1st in Italy is like our Labor Day in September so the entire workshop was not in but the examples were great fun to watch a couple different processes. We enjoyed each making a mosaic (or we could make a piece of jewelry) - it is harder than you may think :) Then we had time to shop before making our way back on our own - we had ACTV passes so no problem there. I would definitely go back again - the glassworks are beautiful.

Our guide was so friendly and taught us how to use the Vaporetto system. He spoke English super well and taught us the history of Murano as well as highlighting the glass blowing process. Once at the factory, the Master glass blower was totally amazing. Paulo was a sweet man who took us through the gallery. We also took away our own original piece of jewelry that we got to make in the work shop. Truly a great experience.
Highly recommend

Nice guide and people at the glass factory. You get to see a glass blowing demonstration by a Fifth generation master artisan. Demonstrated both hollow (vase) and solid (horse and elephant) pieces. Workshop choices for us were either string a bead bracelet or glue colored glass on a wood pendant to create a mosaic piece. Then cycle thru the 2000 piece showroom of Glass pieces available for purchase. We did not have a water bus pass during our visit so we needed to purchase our own water bus tickets to and from the Island of Murano. Nice tour-Amazing Glass work.
Great experience for the whole family!

Okay, but it's a gift shop tour

We loved watching the Master at work, but the demonstration was too short. Also, we wish there was more of a presentation of the history of Murano and glass blowing. At the end of the tour, I felt we paid money to see a quick demo in order for them to walk us through their store and sell us their products.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
