We had a brilliant time and loved every minute, from forming the bread to making pasta and the pizza, and enjoying a fabulous meal. Giovanni was a wonderful host and teacher - definitely recommend this course!

We were so lucky to find this gem of a tour! As a couple we turned up and were treated like royalty, the chef was so knowledgable and took us through all the different methods and ingredients for making sicilian bread, macaroni and pizza. After each prep you get to eat the dish with red and white wine, biscuits, cheeses - the list goes on! You get so much for the value of this tour and we loved every minute of it. Its been one of our favourite experiences so far and we cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic experience! We didn't only make pizza, but we also made macaroni and baked our own bread. Additionally, we were also offered appetizer, local salami and cheese, all with some nice wine. Eating all these amazing food plus our own bread, and macaroni, and pizza is a very tough challenge, but totally worth it. And when we thought we truly couldn't eat more, then came the final "attack": canolli and limoncello.:) Can't remember the last time we ate this much before... The only thing that matched the amount of food we ate was the amount of fun we had. I would definitely do it again. We also received the recipes in email, so we are looking forward to seeing whether we can create anything remotely as good as we made at this pizza baking class.

Four of us went to This class which turned out to be much more than pizza making. We made bread, pizza, pasta and several other Sicilian dishes. The class started with making bread with a break before starting on pasta, pizza and other dishes. We made dough from scratch, and prepared and put our own pizza in the oven. At the conclusion we sat down for a big lunch eating all we prepared. Luca and his chefs were very nice and helpful. Great class you won’t want to miss.

Terrific, this was one of the highlights of our two week trip. We made bread, pasta, and pizza. I thought they'd let us sprinkle a little cheese on the crust and call it a day, But that was not what we did. We started by making the crust, added the topping, used the wooden thingie peal? to put it in and take it out of the oven. We ate everything we made, plus cannoli and wine. It was a fun group, great instructors, and a very cute restaurant right in the center of town. After the class we were able to wander the town a little and stroll up to the Roman theatre. This was a very fun way to spend the morning I highly recommend it.

Our whole family had a great time during this activity at the Porta Messina Ristorante-Pizzeria. Everyone there was exceptionally friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make our activity enjoyable. Advertised as a pizza-making class, we did much more than make pizza. They offer cooking classes and pizza-making classes and participants for both activities spent some time together making pasta and some other items as a warm-up. We then split off into our respective classes either the cooking class or pizza-making class. After the class, everyone regrouped to eat and celebrate. Everyone in our family received personalized master pizza-maker certificates at the end of the activity, much to my children's delight. Overall, it was a fun morning/early afternoon and I highly recommend it!

It starts with coffee and fruit. We then made macaroni and pizza dough from scratch. I really enjoyed being able to put my own ingredients on it. Also, the bakers pizza throwing display. White or red wine is served with the meal, along with still water and antipasto. We requested an email of the recipe but the owner only emailed us a thanks-for-coming email that did not have the recipe. Hence, 4 stars.

Not just pizza making, but a good morning of activity and food with my teenage niece and nephew.
On arrival we were offered fresh fruit and coffee and our won aprons before starting to make bread rolls for the restaurant. Once these were out of the oven we had a platter of salami, proscuitto and cheese to go with the warm bread. Next we learnt how to make pasta dough and form macaroni using a thin stick. The waiters joined in telling us these were skills they had learnt from their grandmothers as small children. As soon as there was a great pile prepared we then went on to make pizza dough, select toppings and put them into the roaring hot oven
Finally we had our pizzas and pasta for lunch.

This was a great way to spend the morning for both my husband and I and our 11 year old! We made bread, pasta and our own pizzas and were provided with antipasti, wine and water as well.
All the staff at the restaurant were incredibly obliging, we had a great time and the recipe email afterwards.

What a great morning this was cooking with Stefanos and his team and WOW we made bread, pasta and pizza and ate it too. We arrived and had cappuccino and fruits before getting started. Stafanos then told us about the different flours and which was used for each of the food we made. The bread we made was served up with wine, soft drinks, cheese, selection of meats, olives, sundried tomatoes and that was before the pasta and the pizza and more wine! During our morning we met some lovely people from the USA and we made some great memories which will stay with us forever. At the end Stafanos presented us each with a certificate and we got to keep our 'Porta Messina Cooking Aprons. Upon arriving home, Stefanos sent us emails with a booklet of Sicilian receipes, including the ones for the food we'd made. Would definitely recommend this experience tenfold!!!

This was a fantastic way to spend a morning in Taormina. There was much more to it than we were expecting - we didn't just make pizza, but also pasta and bread. We were also kept well fed with regular stops for cheese, bread wine, olives, soft drinks, canolo etc. The end product itself was fantastic, with a delicious pizza and loads of other food we felt bad about not being able to eat it all, and we were staying in a hotel without a fridge so weren't able to take leftovers with us even though they were offered. The guys running the class were very friendly and made it a fun experience for all ages there was one very young girl doing the class in our group. Would highly recommend.
