This activity will end right where it started.
Make your way to a centrally-located meeting point where this tour begins, then join a guide and group for a trip through Sarajevo war sites and landmarks. Get an overview of the city from a panoramic overlook, and learn the basics of the Siege of Sarajevo, which stretched from 1992 to 1995.

Continue to a cemetery where victims of the war are buried, and learn what life was like during the siege, as residents coped with scarce food, water, electricity, and gas. Visit some of the city’s main landmarks, many of which sustained heavy shelling: see City Hall and the National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then pass the National Museum, the Presidency Building, Skenderija Market, and the Zetra Olympic Hall.

Walk through Sniper Alley, and along tunnels used during the war. This tour includes admission to the Tunnel Museum, whose exhibits tell the story of the conflict, including a video about UN intervention during the Siege of Sarajevo. After visiting the Tunnel Museum, drive back to your original departure point, where this tour concludes.

My guide not only explained a lot of the history but also his own story. He was a policeman during the siege. He’s very passionate about the politicians who are in it for themselves or are obsessed with nationalist ideology and not helping the country to move on.

Absolutely outstanding! It was very interesting from the very beginning to the very end. We had the tour of the city and loads of information about the important events related to the war time and the buildings role during the sage. The fact that we were shown those buildings and the history behind them as well as our guide’s personal stories of that time made this tour unforgettable and we even got inspired to watch a movie The roses of the Sarajevo on Amazon the same evening. Our guide was English speaking man who was a former policeman, he explained many personal stories, his vision of the events and was very respectful to the fact that there are other versions of what happened. He was not pushing his truth but in a very nice way was educating us through storytelling.
