The sites were kind of fun and interesting - but I thought we were going to get to see the gardens, Von Trapp home, and town where they filmed. In addition, I had heard that it was a fun bus ride with everyone singing - maybe we were unlucky, but had a reserved crowd on our bus and no singing. The tour guide didn’t really do anything to get the crowd to have fun - and the videos he showed on the bus ride (John Denver????) were strange and unrelated to the sound of music. I wouldn’t really recommend this tour. It was kind of boring and the tour guide wasn’t very engaging.

Some of the SOM sights are privately owned, which we definitely respect and therefore may only see from the outside. Mondsee Wedding Chapel & Gazebo are visited during the tour as well as a walk to the gardens at the end of the tour. The tour guide , Mitch, was brilliant, funny but knowledgeable and helped make the tour. Franz the driver was skilful. The drinks were reasonably priced and the video and songs were great. The star of the show was Salzburg sooooo beautiful.

The tour guide on our bus was excellent, as was our driver - very funny, a great style in engaging the participants, and enthusiastic about what they were doing. The guide gave us lots of extra historical information as well as small details about the film and the real von Trapp family, and he was kind and approachable. On experiences like this, a guide can truly make something memorable or forgettable, and in this case he did an absolutely excellent job - we were very lucky to have had him!

Absolutely fantastic tour. Not only did we visit many of the sights seen in the movie, but we also got to learn some of the Hollywood secrets behind the filming. It was truly an amazing experience to learn about the movie and the real life family. The tour guide was super knowledgeable and energetic. 10/10 would recommend!

Amazing, amazing tour! As huge Sound of Music fans, we were delighted with the entire tour from start to finish. Our tour guide, Dave, kept us entertained with behind-the-scene nuggets, which made the tour all the more enjoyable. This tour brought the movie to life, and we were so excited to finally see the iconic places such as the Von Trapp house, the gazebo (interesting story behind this), and the church where Maria and Captain were married. And not to forget, being able to sing all our favourite tunes on the bus! This was undoubtedly the best part of our time in Salzburg. Highly recommend it to all SOM fans out there!

Peter, our guide, came out of retirement to guide our group and he was fantastic. He was informative and warm. Afterwards he took time to take us through the gardens. Ferdinand, our driver, was welcoming and we felt safe in the giant tour bus as he maneuvered it through small streets and busy intersections. We loved the entire experience.

My wife is an enthusiastic fan. She loved hearing new information on the movie. She also enjoyed watching the film’s locations. We were both surprised by the beautiful lake-scenery near Salzburg and Mondsee (the town in which the wedding scene was filmed). I was touched by my fellow tour companions -they were gladly singing songs of a movie that is almost sixty years old. Alenka was a fine tour guide and our bus driver also was top of the class.
