Great but almost missed it due to meeting point inaccuracy
Jeanne_S
, Jul 2022
The tour was really great. Only problem was that the meeting point on my voucher wasn't correct and if it wasn't for a guide from another company calling the company my tour was with, we would have missed our tour. Information should always be correct on your voucher. Meeting point is critical.

Horrible Experience
Amy_J
, Jul 2022
The line was a quarter of a mile long and we were not able to attend due to wait times. Pure chaos in the square and I essentially gave away $58 for no experience at all.

Best tour guide !!
Christine_F
, Jul 2022
Our guide was tremendous, with an unbiased and fact based tour of the St. Peter’s. I cannot recall his name—starts with an N and he is Lebanese—but he was the best tour guide I experienced in Rome. In my haste and in the heat I neglected to read the fine print about the length of time it takes to go thru the security queue BEFORE you can join the tour. It moves fairly gast but leave plenty of time.

Missed time slot due to two hour queue. Misleading advert as guide is within the Basilica . Entry is usually free so not worth paying unless guaranteed to skip the long queue in the heat

I want a refund. Security line 40 min
Anne_M
, Jun 2022
I would like a refund. We were at St. Peter’s at 4:24pm but security took 35-40 min. And no way to skip it. And so way to reach Viator at last minute as email was only option. Very disappointed as have done many ViAtor tours and have gone well. You blew it on this one with no way to get to start. Why not have a way to get in with the guide and fast special line?

The Basilica was beautiful. Our guide was informative. Definitely arrive early since the security line is long. We were afraid we were going to miss our tour but thankfully made it just in time.

Beautiful - what a place full of history - we liked our Italiaan guide Eduardo. Take at least half an hour extra for the security checks - it takes quite long time even a skip the line pass.

Surprising stories and unexpected details
Frances_B
, Jun 2022
The vast scale of the Basilica is overwhelming, and it is a lot to take in visually - arrive a good time before your tour to wander around and take it all in at your own pace beforehand. The tour was very interesting because the guide told us some surprising stories about how the Basilica was created, and pointed out some unusual details we never would have noticed otherwise.

Beautiful Basilica, but far too much information from the guide
Kjellaug_T
, Jun 2022
I had booked a trip 'Skip the lines with guide in the Basilica'. Totally unnecessary. Meeting point was inside the Basilica, which meant I still had to stand in line outside to get in. The guide had a lot of knowledge, but unless you take a special interest in all the popes, when they were born, ruled and died, too much information. As entrance to the Basilica was free, I should just have gone there on my own. Did not save any time, on the contrary. Recommend to do it on your own to save time and money.

Don't Miss the Cupola
Muhammad_B
, Jun 2022
It was well worth it activity. The guide have a very interesting and entertaining roundup of Vatican's history. Two things that are a must do inside the basilica are 1. Papal Grottoes and 2. Go up to the Cupola. Once you're done with the tour, go into the grottoes. You exit the grottoes right in front of the line for the Cupola. Cupola visit costs 10Euro extra but it's worth it. They take you up to the top of the basilica with a complete aerial view of the Vatican and Rome. Great for pictures. And if you're more adventurous, climb further (200+ stairs) to go to the outside balcony on top of the cupola (dome). That will be the highlight of your Vatican trip whether you're a photography buff, history buff, art buff or any other kind of buff visiting Italy.

Rich St Peter Basilica Tour
Sophie_L
, Jun 2022
The guided tour was awesome! There’s so much history in the Basilica and the guide, Valentina, had a lot of knowledge. She also answered many questions. Highly recommend you arrive at least 1.5 hours before the meeting time. The security line is extremely long & I was 10 minutes late.

It is very nice to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. But the guide focus on the dimension’s of the building and how big it is , not about the art and the religious aspects of the Basilica .
