Piazzale del Museo Borghese , Piazzale del Museo Borghese, 00197 Roma RM, Italy

Meet your guide in Piazzale del Museo Borghese, in front of the Borghese Gallery Main Entrance. (Villa Borghese entrance on via Pinciana)

Piazza del Popolo , Piazza del Popolo, Roma RM, Italy

The Tour ends at the Pincio Terrace overlooking Piazza del Popolo. From there it is extremely quick and easy to reach Piazza del Popolo as well as the adjacent Metro stop (5 min walk), but it does require descending a long flight of steps.

Meet your guide at the Borghese Gallery to begin your tour of one of Rome’s most beautiful art galleries. As you wander through the collection of masterpieces by Italian artists like Caravaggio, Bernini, Canova and Titian, your guide will tell you about the stories, techniques and even some secrets behind the paintings and sculptures.

After your gallery tour, head outside into the Villa Borghese Gardens for a walk around the peaceful park, perched above Rome’s busy Piazza del Popolo. Admire the monuments, fountains and diverse plant life, and end your tour at the Pincian (Pincio) terrace for a view of Rome’s rooftops and plazas spread before you. To upgrade your ticket, select a private tour exclusive to just your group.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Galleria Borghese
Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector. Strictly controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. This package lets you avoid the organizing and even skip the line to get in when you arrive. On this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’, Canova’s ‘Pauline Bonaparte’, Caravaggio’s ‘St. Jerome’ and Raphael’s ‘The Deposition’. Your guide will be an English-speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say.

The guide was excellent and shared her personal favorites with us. Nice insights. This was our second trip to the Borghese - really enjoyed this. The first time we did the normal audio self guided tour. This was much better.

Fortunate Outcome of Unfortunate Situation

Tour was allegedly canceled 30 minutes before departure time, but group members were not notified. It took calling the company to refund my payment and I was very fortunate to have carried an extra €15 euros for a last minute ticket (due to another person’s cancellation) and €5 for the audio guide.

An absolutely exquisite tour. The gallery itself is breathtakingly beautiful, surrounded by a wonderful garden and park. Our guide was superb—clearly passionate about the subject matter and eager to share. She brought the artists, the artwork and the stories behind them to life. A highlight of our stay.

Tour guide never showed
Sonia_T
, Jun 2022
Our tour guide never showed leaving 15 of us stranded outside the museum entrance. If they would have given us advanced notice that would be another thing but not finding out that the tour was canceled until literally the time it's supposed to start is so unprofessional. We tried asking to see if they could still send us the tickets by email but we got no answer and eventually got the tour refunded. 0/10 give advance notice people.
