Enter the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo's famous ceiling fresco and learn about the events that still take place there, such as the Papal conclave.

Stop to visit a local restaurant for lunch before continuing to the afternoon portion of your tour.

Again, skip the line for the Colosseum and explore the massive amphitheater with your guide, learning about its history as a source of entertainment for ancient Roman citizens.

Discover the Capitol Hill, the actual site of the Mayor of Rome, and offering the most beautiful view on the Roman Forum.

Then, you'll have the opportunity to visit Palatine Hill, the place of foundation of Rome and the Roman Forum from the inside, where your tour concludes.
Stop At:
Sistine Chapel
The Sistine Chapel is one of the most important treasures of the Vatican, of Rome and of the whole world. It is renowned both for its frescoes and for the fact that the Popes are elected here. What most attracts attention in the Sistine Chapel, however, is not its architecture, but the frescoes that completely decorate its walls and ceiling. Renowned artists such as Botticelli, Perugino and Michelangelo contributed to the wide decoration of the Chapel.

The Best Way to Tour

Our tour guide was awesome and very caring. I highly recommend this tour versus waiting in long lines. Lunch was great too! Definitely worth the investment and one of the best ways to truly appreciate the historical sites.
Must do and see tour

A very big day and a lot to take in and NO lines. Vatican was sensational and the lunch was very good considering the time frame the restaurant had to prepare the meals plus it was convenient to be transported to the Colosseum. Our guide Tahani was very good taking time to explain in full to all of the group. Possibly a lot for some older and less agile

Rome in a day!!
, Nov 2019
It was wonderful! Guides and transportation were spot on! Not a tour for people with mobility issues. It wasn’t a problem for me but it came to mind after the many Km’s we walked and many many stairs involved. Highly recommend!
Exciting and interesting day in Rome
, Nov 2019
Highly recommend this tour. Hotel pick up was a half hour late but the driver was courteous and apologetic. Both tour guides were very good and Rita was terrific and was very well informed and fun. It was a big advantage being able to 'skip the line' and if you have limited time in this beautiful city this is the way to do it!

Visiting Rome
, Nov 2019
It was too much to do in one day. Possibly because it was a holiday weekend in Rome and we didn’t realize that when we booked. We missed touring the Colosseum and Paletine due to time constraints. Another time we would book separate tours. Viator is very easy to deal with and the guides were all very knowledgeable.
Combonation Tour
, Nov 2019
Make sure you are aware of the time allotted to see all of the attractions. The second part of the tour was very rushed. We only had about 10 minutes to tour the Colossum because in November Palatine Hill close early we were not told that at booking. We only had 5 minutes to tour Palatine Hill, hold up at entrance. We did not get a chance to see the Roman Foram at all. We were a little disappointed, but overall Rome is beautiful. So if you have a chance to go, Please do!
Good experience

Generally a good trip, but due to early closing we had to rush around the colosseum to try and fit it all in, sadly this spoilt the tour. Luch was very good and enjoyable

Dear Guest, we thank you a lot for your contribution, we're glad you enjoyed the tour and especially the lunch. We're aware of early closures that oblige our guides to maintain a quicker pace in order to be able to show all the sights included in the tour to their groups, we're actually in the process of analyzing the guest experience so we can improve it by implementing some little changes. Kind regards, the Gray Line I Love Rome Team
Told we had cancelled
Denis T

This tour was double booked . . . Viator please check your own details. We cancelled one (1) of the two tours. When we were in Rome we rang Carrani Tours 36 hours in advance to confirm pick-up time only to be told that the second booking had been cancelled also. We have been charged for two (2) excursions received one payment back and have requested a second refund. I have reviewed here because other means have been fruitless. Please explain.
icon Response from Host , Nov 2019
Dear Denis, we're sorry you had to cancel but we're not sure we understand what exactly happened. While we remind you that the review channel should be used to share your opinion about a tour you actually took (and that cancellation and refund requests should be directed to the Customer Service), we would like to get more detail about this issue so we can assist you in collaboration with our Booking Department. We also would like to inform you that the tour you booked (Rome in one day) is made of two separate experiences (Vatican Museums and Colosseum) but is actually one single product, meaning one final price and one transaction. If you cancelled the reservation, you cancelled it all, so you should have been refunded in full. Anyways, please get in touch with us at providing your reference code so that we know what you're talking about. Best regards, the Gray Line I Love Rome Team
