Meet your guide in central Lisbon for a memorable small-group guided day trip to Sintra and Cascais. Hop aboard your air-conditioned minivan and travel to Sintra. First, stop at Pena Park and see the diversity of plants and trees line the beautiful trails. Then, voyage to a spectacular vantage point of the colorful Pena National Palace (Palacio da Pena).

Continue to Pena National Palace, the most famous of Sintra’s monuments, located at the top of Sintra Mountain. Enjoy this 19th-century Romanticist castle that looks and feels like a fairy tale. Admire its eclectic Neo-Manueline, Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance styles as you head inside. Observe the extravagant bedrooms that used to serve as a summer residence for the royal family.

Depart the palace and stroll with your guide to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra. Spend some free time to have lunch or discover the town’s forested palaces like Sintra National Palace, a medieval royal palace occupied from the 15th to 19th centuries (own expense). Check out the local fare with tastes of aqueijada or travesseiro, two scrumptious and traditional pastries.

Meet back at your coach and travel past Quinta da Regaleira and the Palace of Monserrate on the way to Roca Cape (Cabo da Roca). Then, whip out your camera for great photos at the rocky bluffs which are Europe’s westernmost point. Briefly, visit Guincho Beach where surfers shred the gnar and then cruise by Hell’s Mouth (Boca do Inferno). Finally, make your way to Cascais’ bay for a walk.

In the former fishing town of Cascais, peruse the narrow streets of this trendy vacation getaway with your guide. Check out classic white, terracotta-roofed houses as you make your way to the beach. Then, bask in the sun as you tuck your toes into the golden sands and gaze over the expansive Atlantic Ocean.

Along the journey back to central Lisbon, where your tour concludes, enjoy pristine views of the scenic town of Estoril.

Awesome day, team e guide!!!

I booked online a night before, my day tour to Sintra. First time in the morning the agency called me apologizing and informing that my booking couldn’t go through, that was an error in the system, they were fully booked for the day. However, they made all the efforts to fit me in, even in another language tour. So I was able to go with a lovely german group. João was our guide and I wouldn’t mind if he’d only guide in german, but he was a star and spent the day explaining everything in portuguese for me as well. João was super kind, went beyond the expectations guiding in 2 languages to make sure everyone could understand it. I ended the day with beautiful memories e pictures of Sintra, Cabo da Rocca and Caiscais. My huge thanks to João and the team. I definitely recommend this tour ❤️

A good Day trip with scenic views

It is good day trip from Lisbon, very pleasant, no rushing and a lot of opportunity to learn about Lisbon. Our tour guide was Rui (might have the name mixed up). But he was very knowledgeable and took care good care of the group. I really enjoyed the Pena Palace, it is quite beautiful with an interesting history and the town of Cascais is beautiful and charming. Especially if you enjoy small but very well off fisherman town vibes on a warm sunny day. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there was an additional payment of 3 euros to take a very short bus ride from the foot of the Pena palace to the main gate up. This trip is walk-able, and I think taking the bus was unnecessary. I am not sure if our guide wanted all of us to be together so he can give us the history, or he was just concerned for the senior members of the group, but he did not make it very clear that if we could or could not walk up. I am almost certain he wanted the whole group to stick together for the first part hence recommended all of us to buy the trip up to the castle.
