Our tour guide was lovely.

Loved learning about Old Barcino - the Roman name for Barcelona. Laura, our guide, obviously loves her city and does a good job of imparting not only the history but also the culture of the Catalan people and their struggles to maintain their language and history. She also recommended a great restaurant for our lunch.

Jordi was a great guide. We went on a tour of about 8 of us that wound through the Gothic Quarter. I thought the tour was only about an hour long, but ended up being about 2.5 hours. The 9 AM start time helped ensure that the Gothic Quarter was not overrun with tourists and all the major points to explore sights and sounds would be more personal. Jordi took us to several Roman archeological sites including the old cemetery outside the city walls, the remnants/reproduction of the Roman city walls, and the columns from the temple. Additionally, he showed us several medieval churches and taught us about traditional Catalonian architecture and traditions. It was money well spent to get a great overview of all the Gothic Quarter had to offer!
