Amazing tour!

Fantastic tour of all the essentials in the area. I definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time but want to see the region. Jerome was a wonderful guide, with a wealth of knowledge for all the major spots and stopped at additional places that weren’t in the original tour description. Roads are bumpy and you’ll get jostled in the van bit, but overall wonderful tour!
Not what we expected

We visited some amazing places in Provence that we probably would not have seen otherwise. The tour guide was reallly good at stopping for photos and took great pictures. We would have appreciated more commentary as we were driving about the country side, history, things we were seeing. The guide was kind to buy us a coffee at a morning stop and water after our last stop, both of which were much appreciated. By afternoon our guide was barely talking. It seemed off that we started our tour in Avignon, then by early afternoon we’re back on Avignon to pick up a half day group. Would have rather just continued and ended tour earlier. But the biggest issue for all 4 of us was the driving. The guide was driving so fast and 3 of us got motion sickness. We were just relieved to return without hitting another car, a pedestrian, a biker.

How our guide Jerome showed us local sites that we would have missed on our own. Jerome knowledge and experience made our trip very enjoyable
A smidge of Provence

It was nice to experience a “smidge” of the Luberon and see to Pont du Gard. Our guide, Mark, was articulate and caring. You need to know this is mostly a drive by subject to the tour company’s scheduling. For instance we drove through St Remy for that advertised segment. We had our longest time at Pont du Gard which had the least to see. Our whole-day tour was really two half day tours put together. Both started in Avignon so time was spent returning there and waiting for the next to start as we let people off and added them. Had I understood this I would have cancelled due to the waste of time. I figured it might be rushed in spots but not because I was paying to go pick up their next customer. The guide told us to buy food in one town because lunch would be rushed in the next, which did not have great places to picnic. Lack of communication and transparency made me feel taken advantage of and disappointed.
Response from Host , Jun 2022
Thank you very much for your reply.
We are sorry for these disappointments. Our visits are organized in full days without returning to Avignon, or in half days. We have a maximum of combinations to offer several visits. Concerned about customer satisfaction, we take your comments into account and try to be as transparent as possible with the tour operators who sell the services.
Best regards

Easy pickup and drop off in Avignon, despite a major festival. The locations visited across the day were varied and all so beautiful. We fit a lot in one day. Our driver was really friendly, courteous and punctual. I had hoped to get more commentary across the day about the area and the locations we visited, instead of being dropped off and to find our own way around. All in all, a lovely day and great way to see the area when you have limited time.
Nice tour, but too long!

Stunning vistas well paced, presented, and organized, with a very informative and pleasant guide

I have taken a large number of guided tours at various places around the world, and this one was the best. Our guide, Joanna, is an energetic, charming and well-informed Provence native who is bilingual French-English. Her expertise includes local and world history, art history and a deep knowledge of wines. The choice of places to see in Provence are perfect and varied, and in each place you are given enough time to explore on your own, at your own pace, including deciding where you choose to snack or have lunch. So you don’t get talked to death or shunted around like cattle. I have mobility and small bladder problems, and the stops are timed perfectly for that, and there’s as much walking around at the beautiful towns and historical sites as you feel up to. I am sure the other guides are great, but you will have an outstanding experience if you get Joanna. If you visit Avignon but don’t take this tour you will miss the best part.

An enjoyable visit to some of Provence's best destinations

We really enjoyed our tour with Joanna, who was very enthusiastic and knowledgable about all of the lovely spots we visited. She took the time to explain many of the interesting background details of the places on the tour, and gave us enough time to explore each site on our own. It was a long and diverse itinerary, but we truly came away with a sense of having seen some of the region's best attractions.
Busy but full and enjoyable day

This was a great tour and a nice host...

This was a great tour and a nice host. There was only one topic in the agenda that was not correct. When I purchased it, it referenced the tour would include a stopover in a lavender museum. When I brought it up to the host, he said he was going to fax it over to his office. There was no lavender on the agenda since in early September the fields are no longer in bloom.
There was a pitstop to look at roman ruins in St. Remy. What no one explained is literally across the street from the ruins is the hospital that Van Gogh stayed at. I think giving the group an option of either venue for 30 minutes would of been a better choice.
Amazing

Our driver and guide was very accommodating, checked the group constantly for our feedbacks and comfort level. He obviously is very familiar with the region and has taken us to all the historic sites and special spots for photo opportunities. It is a long day trip, but well worth the money if you don’t have a car. Will highly recommend it to other travelers alike.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
