Mt. Fuji 5th Station

Mt.Fuji Fujinomiya Route 5th station, Tokyo, Japan

The Basics

Most visitors explore Mt. Fuji 5th Station on a day trip from Tokyo, combined with other attractions in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. A typical day tour itinerary includes a Lake Ashi boat cruise and a ride on Mount Komagatake’s ropeway; a visit to Oishi Park and Mount Kachi Ropeway; or activities, such as fruit picking, wine tasting, or a soak in a traditional onsen (hot spring). Mt. Fuji 5th Station also serves as the starting point for hikes to the summit. From 5th Station, the observation point offers unobstructed views of Fuji Five Lakes, Fujiyoshida City, and Lake Yamanaka.

1 day private tour to Mnt Fuji from Tokyo
I had a wonderful full day excursion from Tokyo to Mount Fuji area with Taiii. He took me, in the morning, from the hotel in his nice car, drove and guide through the day and dropped me back to the Hotel at late evening. We enjoyed the Peace Park cherry blossom (it was Just on time during early April), Mnt. Fuji observation center, lunch overlooking the lake and a nice Onsen. Enjoyed it very much and highly recommend. See ful tour description 1. Fuji Peace park We arrived at the best moment to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. 2. Fuji World Heritage center Watched an overview movie of Mt Fuji, its surroundings, and knowing the history of pilgrimage. 3. Lunch at Premier By Daniel Paquet French chef, former chef at Maxim de Paris in Tokyo. Thank you very much for inviting me to join your private time. It was very good. 4. Kawaguchiko Music Forest Enjoyed the sound from various automatons and found a few souvenirs. 5. Onsen Relaxing time in a private Japanese natural hot spring with a great view of Mount Fuji. thx, Yoel

Great Experience to Mt Fuji

Mt Fuji Private customize tour with English speaking Driver
Overall great experience for a last minute trip on my end. The driver I had (Ali) was extremely professional, on time, and had great knowledge of Japan. I was picked up and taken back to my hotel in Tokyo. He knew where to go, had great suggestions, and explain allot of things regarding Mt Fuji. Best part of the trip was driving into and leaving Mt Fuji. The road plays music as you drive in and out of Mt Fuji. Only issue you may have is the weather and cloud coverage over Mt Fuji. Great trip!

Mt Fuji Day Tour with English Speaking Guide
My tour guide was very nice and very knowledgeable of the history of Mt Fuji and the surrounding area. Even though some places are closed due to the state of emergency, I still had a great time and would reccomend him to anyone looking to visit Mt Fuji.

Private Mt Fuji and the Gotemba Outlet in One Day from Tokyo
Good tour , they contact me the day before to ask me what we wanted to do . They pick up us in the hotel and take us where we wanted. As we were a group of 8 the guide accompanied my father to si some shopping in the mall and help him with the translation. He was very kind. Due to the they take us to a snow resort which wasn’t in the itinerary , that was great ! Excellent tour

Mt Fuji Day Tour with English Speaking Guide
My wife and I toured Japan for 20 days using 9 guides. Zia was by far the best guide we had during our trip. He was prompt, made feel comfortable throughout the trip including tourist sites and lunch. His driving habits, knowledge and english are excellent. We had a great day and came away as friends. I would recommend to all.

Private Tour: Chartered Car to Mt. Fuji Lake Kawaguchiko or Hakone and Lake Ashi
We spent a great day with Takashi (guide) and Toshi (driver) in the 5 lakes region. They planned the whole day according to our preferences. We got spectacular views of Mt. Fuji from the different sites. Traffic was very bad coming back due to culture day weekend, but they kept their positive attitude throughout.

our guide Teddy (Tetsuya Ishida) was wonderful and so was the driver. They picked us up at our hotel in a comfortable minivan. They took us as close to Mt. Fuji as possible and the weather was gorgeous so we were able to see Mt. Fuij and take great pictures. The place he took us for lunch (special Hoto Noodle Soup) was in a high elevation with great views of mt. Fuji, and the noodle soup was delicious. We would highly recommend him and his driver.

[New Tour 2022] Mt. Fuji & Hakone 1 Day Tour
I booked a similar tour but it was cancelled, however, I was offered an alternative option which is this tour. The agency was very considerate and offered me some accomodations based on my needs and as a way to make up the previous cancellation. This tour took place in a Japanese holliday and there was a car accident on the highway so we were expecting a huge delay. The tour guide made sure to set the right expectations and give options to those travellers who needed. The whole tour was being reorganized while we moved forward. We were able to make all the stops, have lunch and an AMAZING VIEW of all the landscapes. The guide was super friendly and totally commited to solve issues and making sure travellers could complete all the tour, knowing each day counts very much. Thank you Yuki and your amazing team for giving our group another beautiful memory of Japan. Book this tour! Is beautiful and you will be in very good hands.

A long day but totally worth it! Think again if it's Golden Week
Debra_M, Jun 2019
Mt Fuji & ShibaSakura Festival with Hotel Pick Up
It was Golden Week so the bus trip was much much longer than usual. Our bus driver and guide were excellent and went out of their way to give us a memorable experience. Because of the very very heavy traffic, it took nearly 7 hours to get to the Flower Festival, which was great by the way, Mt Fuji was in view nearly the whole day! We didn't have time then to get to the 5th Station, were were disappointed but we were taken to a Lake where there was a beautiful garden and fabulous views again of Mt Fuji. So the tip... expect a very long day during Golden Week with an amended itinerary. Nevertheless, we made friends in the bus, ate some very different foods from the stops along the way. Thank you to the Driver, he was great!

When to Get There

Weather permitting, it’s possible to visit Mt. Fuji 5th Station year-round. During summer, when the hiking trail is open (July to mid-September), the station can get extremely busy, and the access road is closed to private vehicles—shuttle buses run between car parks at the bottom of the mountain. In winter, heavy snow can sometimes hinder access.

Climbing Mt. Fuji

Scaling the 12,389-feet (3,776-meter) summit of Japan’s highest mountain is a popular challenge for adventurous travelers. Yoshida Trail is the busiest route to the top, with more than 170,000 climbers annually. It’s only open for two months each summer, and the ascent takes between five and six hours, with the descent taking three to four. Many hikers start out in the middle of the night in order to reach the summit in time for sunrise.
