The Basics

Experiencing the spectacular Hermitage complex and collection could consume days, so plan ahead to tailor your visit. Given its massive size, taking a guided tour or renting an audio guide may be the most efficient way to see as much as possible. For a unique experience, book a private tour that includes visits to both the Diamond and Gold rooms. If you're short on time, consider visiting as part of a small-group walking tour around St. Petersburg, or as part of a full-day city tour that also includes attractions like Peterhof, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, and Peter and Paul Fortress.

State Hermitage Museum St. Petersburg Admission Ticket
We had very good experience with the purchase. We had a very late booking and worried the 48-hour confirmation as mentioned would be too long. And to ournice surprise our booking was confirmed in less than 12 hours with a very smooth entry. Just print out the tickets with Bar code and enter at the designated entrance for internet booking. That is it. Very easy!

Private Tour of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg
Olga was very well versed in The Hermitage and Winter Palace. We enjoyed our time with her and the art work. She is an expert and her English was excellent. And she was super nice! Book this tour and ask for Olga. She also recommended that we stop at Literary Cafe of Alexander Pushkin. It was delightful and delicious after a stroll thru the Hermitage. You can’t possibly see it all, but this 3 hr tour was fabulous and chocked full of history and beauty.

Small-Group St Petersburg Hermitage Museum Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry
Anna was a wonderful guide with in depth knowledge who answered all our questions and made the day fun and interesting. We were fortunate as there wasn't a large crowd with it being off peak season. Highly recommend this tour as Anna also allowed us a few choices as to what we would like to see on top of showing us the main highlights. Definitely too much to cover on your own!

St Petersburg city tour including visit to the state Hermitage museum
There are so many amazing things to see but this four hour tour packs a fair amount in. Aided by my tour guide, Pollina, I was able to see some key sites in the city before spending good time exploring the wonders and beauty of the Winter Palace and Hermitage. Highly recommended.

Small-Group St Petersburg Hermitage Museum Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry
Hermitage is a must see. Lots of tour groups so small group of four enabled skip-the-line. Guide was knowledgeable and moved around the museum covering the highlights in the three hours. There was a lot to take and the option was available to remain after the tour was over. Tour was a good introduction to this museum.

Anna was our very calm, knowledgeable guide for a most interesting 3 hour tour of the Hermitage. Even though it was incredibly crowded inside, the ear phones provided, made all the difference.

Small-Group St Petersburg Hermitage Museum Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry
Getting a skip the line entry is highly recommended given the high number of tourists visiting the Hermitage, but getting a personal guided tour is even better. Having a guide will make tour gain deeper understanding of the museum's history & the exhibits on display. Tim was our guide this afternoon, and he made sure to arrange the walk as if he was telling a story with a smooth and natural flow. We were amazed that he managed to share all those details and talk non stop for 3 hours! We also did not get bored at all and he had our full attention throughout the tour. I highly recommend joining this guided tour!

Small-Group St Petersburg Hermitage Museum Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry
I had a really great introduction to the Hermitage with my guide, Olga. She was incredibly knowledgeable about both the building and the art collection. I've been to a lot of museums, but the Hermitage is like the Louvre - an incredible wealth of art and also pretty overwhelming. Olga was able to distill the more important works/collections into the 3 hour tour, and then I was still free to go back to see more of it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The early access was also amazing because you beat the crowds and have the opportunity to see the art without being surrounded by the hordes. That definitely wasn't the case when I left the museum (and in fact I think the big crowds were always approximately 30 minutes behind us). It is definitely worth it to show up for the 10 am meeting time and then get in early. If Olga sees this review, I want to thank her again for the great job she did!
