706 Reviews
Ivan Meštrović’s iconic Gregory of Nin (Grgur Ninski) statue is one of Split’s most popular attractions. Originally erected in 1929, the 27-foot (8.5-meter) sculpture commemorates the medieval bishop and advocate of Croatia’s national language. Today, his bronze toe has been rubbed clean by countless visitors seeking good luck.

Walking Tour of Split with a 'Magister' of History
284
This is a walking tour of Split with a local historian! I will guide you through all of the relevant sites in the center of Split in a logical manner following the cities development through time.
I have a Master's degree in history, so I can provide much more knowledge than what is learned at a tour guide course. I have years of study and passion for history behind me and I am really trying to carry that forward. Also, I am a local, born and still living in Split!
I combine that with the expertise and education I gained as a teacher to make my tours a logical and pragmatic experience.
I speak fluent English and I enforce dialogue as much as I can during my tours since it provides much more personal contact with the guide and it's easier and more enjoyable to learn that way.
I will present you with 3D reconstructions of the sites, which are a result of my own work and dedication, in order to bring the past to life for the visitor!

2 Hours Split Walking tour with free food tasting
On this tour we aim not only to acquaint our guests with the historical background of Split, but also to make a lasting impression of the destination. We wish to immerse them in local way of life and give them an authentic experience they won't soon forget. We can achieve that by telling them stories about everyday life in Split, incorporating lesser-known tidbits or talking about cultural quirks. However, we also think it is important to engage all of the guests' senses, which is why we included places like Split's Green market, a chocolate store, Vestibule (with a cappella group usually present), Matejuška pier (where locals socialize).
