Peljesac Peninsula

Southern Dalmatia

The Basics

The Pelješac Peninsula is a popular day-trip destination from Dubrovnik for those wanting to experience a bit of the coastal countryside. Nature lovers will adore the endless walking trails along the coast, sun worshippers can beach hop across both sides of the peninsula, and wind surfers will find some of the best conditions in Croatia on the southwest shores.

Tours of the Pelješac Peninsula often include a visit to the fishing village of Ston to view its 14th-century walls, a stop at a family-run winery to sample local Pelješac wine, and a stroll along the sea to revel in some of the peninsula’s finest coastal scenery.

Fantastic, fun and worthwhile
From start to finish we enjoyed the day, Tihan was excellent, the content of the day was engaging and diverse. The winerys are all different and the wines delicious. Very much justifies the cost overall, and we'd happily do one of these tours again.

Amazing tour. Tihan is a knowledgeable and informed guide. The wineries selected were fantastic, especially the final stop at Grgurewc - well worth waiting for. I could not recommend this tour highly enough.

Wine Lover's Tour of Peljesac Peninsula
We liked the tour very much. It’s a perfect combination of history, culture and of course wine. The little place Ston with the saltbasins and the three winehouses were all really different but all very delicious. Our driver and tourguide was Tihan and his enthousiasm and beautiful stories made the tour even better. Also really nice that you get picked up and brought back home. We would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Dubrovnik or places nearby!

Food, Wine and History of Peljesac Peninsula
My wife and I had the pleasure of taking this and being the only ones. So we spent 5 + hours with our own personal driver. Private wine tour. Lunch at a great spot in Mali Ston. We hiked the walls at Ston. Great mix of food wine and local history and insight. Would definitely recommend.

Food, Wine and History of Peljesac Peninsula
This is a great tour to include both wine tasting and history. Pick up was easy and on time. We learned about Croatian history and enjoyed lovely wine. After the wine, we headed to Ston where we were able to see the salt flats and walk on the wall. We finished off with an amazing lunch in Mali Ston where we had fresh oysters, mussels, tuna tartar, and tried the traditional dish black risotto. Everything was amazing. It was an ideal blend of wine and history but also leaving time in the afternoon to continue to explore Dubrovnik and enjoy the wine!

When to Get There

With endless sunshine and dry weather along the coast, Croatia sees the most visitors during the peak summer months of July and August. The Pelješac Peninsula sees fewer tourists than other destinations along the Dalmatian coast, so during the peak season it’s a more peaceful experience. With even fewer tourists and pleasant weather, the shoulder months of May and September are also great times to visit.
