Amazing performance
Very prompt transfer taking us directly to the venue and back to the hotel afterwards. The dinner was really good and the portions were quite large. And the show was absolutely AMAZING! The dancers are extraordinary and the whole performance was meticulous! Of course, the whole thing is typically touristic, but it's really worthed!

Tango dancers were genuine and fabulous , they were all amazing...the live music fantastic and the tango singer amazing as well. 100% worth the price... I would come back in a heartbeat! We had the show-only, dined at a steakhouse before getting picked up at the hotel.

VIP Dinner and Show

Tango Porteño Show Buenos Aires
I had booked the VIP dinner and show option with free private hotel pick-up and drop-off. We had a great table for the two of us. We really enjoyed the dinner and the show. We were given the option of buying photos of us with two of the performers for US$15 each. I bought three photos which didn’t come with digital copies. The only negative was the free private transportation. It turned out to be a taxi and it didn’t arrive until 8:30 pm for the pick-up. The same driver also drove me back to the hotel. The driver didn’t drive up to the entrance of the hotel to let me out. Instead, he stopped prior to the entrance and gestured me to pay the fare on the meter. I told him that it was free and left the taxi. I wasn’t impressed by this attempted scam.

Excellent evening let down by the pick-up

The dinner and show were excellent. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is down to the pick-up. We were left waiting 40 minutes with no ability to contact anyone. Stupidly I had emails sent to me to say they were running late but how can you pick these up when you are standing in the middle of a street without any WiFi? There was also no apology when we were picked up by the drive who was very abrupt.

Great Show, So-So Food and Service

The venue is beautiful and big. The dancers and musicians are truly talented and entertaining. It was like watching a Tango version of a Broadway musical. Unfortunately, the service was not that great, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The servers were slow. They bus boys kept getting the orders wrong. We had to chase people down to get more wine. There is no alternative for people who don't drink alcohol. It was sad that the pasta tasted much better than the steak. The desserts were delicious.

Tango Porteño Tango Show with Optional Dinner and Tango Class
Really enjoyed the Tango Show. I just booked for transfer and show. I was told I would be picked up between 21:00 - 21:30, the driver came at 21:40. I messaged the contact number given on my ticket and someone did reply right away which put me at ease. The show was brilliant, lots of dancing and routines. I didn't feel pressured into tipping or purchasing photographs. The waiters returned my change after I bought a drink. I was dropped right to my hotel door and the driver waited to make sure I was in before leaving which was lovely.

A visual and auditory experience

We went for a tango lesson for about 50 people and it was fun! That started about 2000 hours instead of the 1930 hours as advertised. No need to get their early! We then were seated in a huge theater but the visibility of the stage was wonderful. We really didn’t finish dinner until 2200 hours and the food was fine for this kind of venue. There were choices on the menu including steak . Just keep your expectations on the low side. The 5-star rating was for the 90 minute spectacular dance and music show. The costumes, visual effects, scenarios accompanying the dancing and the cast were beyond expectations. We were enthralled. There are smaller venues around town but this was akin to seeing something on Broadway. Worth the wait, average food. By the way, easy access as I think is right next door to the Teatre Colon, the opera house.

Modern tango

Tango Porteño Tango Show with Optional Dinner and Tango Class
I went for the show only. Arrived at 21+ and had a nice viewing seat close to the stage. The show started at 22:15 and lasted 1.5h max. It started with a Broadway muscial kindof dancing scene. The orchestra was introduced and played a few songs. Individual couples dancing alternated with a singer and other grouped couples dancing, to the rythm of a club like modern tango. There was a lengthy part with 2 guys playing the drums and doing some acrobatics, not what I expected ; interesting&enjoyable, but for a cique de soileil kindof show. There will be constant movement of waiters during the show, as they discreetly take care of orders, service, selling picture etc. Did not feel pressured for tips/buying pics at any point. Cards are accepted. Saw quite a few peeps taking videos and pics. Overall, I am happy I went, I enjoyed it more than the Senior Tango the night before.

This was an excellent event. The show was exciting and spectacular. The dancing, singing and orchestra were terrific. It was a great introduction to the big time tango shows in BA. Pick up. D drop off were timely. We made friends on the van too! The service at dinner was quite good. The food was as you would expect at a banquet. My beef was a bit fatty and tough so it’s not a Parilla experience but it was what I expected when they try to scale a dinner for such a large number of people. I would do this again and recommend it.
