This is a fairly simple tour for wine lovers. Enjoy a rural journey through orange groves, while contemplating the hills full of typical Algarve. Despite the excellent quality of the Algarve's wine, we don't have the same kind of large vineyards and wineries that we have in the country's more popular wine regions. We will visit one vineyard, which is not necessarily Quinta do Francês. It could be another very good one. PLEASE BE AWARE: This tour is only feasible with a minimum of 4 participants. This eventual shared tour, and therefore at a lower cost, starts at a single meeting point. If you want to go on a tour that includes pick up from the hotel instead, please choose a private tour, as only private tours include hotel pick up. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Then, in each place, you will also have time on your own to explore. For semi-private tours WE DO NOT PICK UP from different points.. Therefore, this tour starts at a single meeting point, at the public parking lot in front of the Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa hotel (across the street) at 9:00am and ends at the same point at about 4:00pm. The times for each stop must be met. When in Silves, we will park by the river then we`ll lead you walking to the castle. When in Monchique, we will park outside the town, then we`ll lead you walking to the center of the town, giving you tips.The guide will then set up a meeting point for pick up, and from there the customers will have more than 2 hours to enjoy Monchique on their own. The name of Quinta do Canhoto in Portuguese means “left-handed” Whether by coincidence or not, many members of the family that owns Quinta do Canhoto are left-handed and this could be why there is such a strong creative component in each generation. Proof of this is the new winery, a sophisticated building designed by architect Joana Fernandes (the daughter of one of the brothers who run the farm). Inspired by the architecture of the Algarve, the winery’s basement houses all of the production technology and the storage area for the wine, while the upper floor comprises a tasting room and support bar, as well as affording a magnificent view over the vineyard and down to the Atlantic Ocean.
